Bella

"would not take my Bella anywhere else now"

My two year old Cavapoo, Bella, has been going to Canada Farm Grooming Parlour since a tiny puppy. When she needed her first hair cut I was very reluctant to trust anyone with her and was in a quandary as to where to send her. Canada Farm was recommended to me and I needn't have worried at all, as from the very first time I took Bella there she was received with open arms! She was a little nervous, but was carried away safely and lovingly by Kay who I could tell would treat her as special as I do. I was amazed when she was brought back to me at how beautifully groomed and cut she was, not to mention how gorgeous she smelt! I cannot fault the staff, their commitment and the facilities at Canada Farm and would not take my Bella anywhere else now. My thanks to everyone for all your hard work, dedication and obvious love of animals.

"He certainly is a happy boy today"

I just wanted to record my thanks to Kay and Marc for the fantastic job they did yesterday in transforming my portable compost heap of a Hovawart into a very smart, handsome boy! I realise that he really was in a terrible mess and that he must have been a big challenge and looking at how sleek he now looks you must have ended up with a tremendous amount of waste hair! He certainly is a happy boy today and our walk was terrific as he actually ended up reasonably clean and mud free!

"Her tail wags furiously when she sees Kay"

Kay the dog groomer has a great rapport with Poppy. Her tail wags furiously when she sees Kay, and she is always keen to be pampered in the grooming parlour.

I have been around dogs all my life, my first experience of grooming was helping my mum prepare our family Flat coated retrievers for showing. I started working with dogs in 1995, as a kennel maid at a boarding kennels.

Here I cared for the dogs by cleaning, feeding and exercising, I also then started to bath and groom the clients that boarded with us.

I joined the team at Canada Farm in 2002, firstly doing kennel work, some bathing, grooming and trimming. In 2009 I started to study dog grooming at Hadlow College and achieved a city and guilds NVQ levels 2 and 3 in professional dog grooming. Since becoming a professionally qualified groomer, my role has developed in the parlour, I have now become solely responsible for running all aspects of the dog grooming parlour.

I really enjoy dog grooming, and making sure that all our dogs have a happy stress free grooming experience and go home looking smart and smelling lovely.

As a dog lover and owner, I think it is important to treat every dog that comes to us with the love and care I would treat my own as coming to us should be an enjoyable experience. We have gained many regular four legged clients over the years, all of which enjoy their grooming time and give us a lovely greeting when they arrive.

I have been working at Canada Farm now since 2005. Whilst working here I gained a national diploma in animal management, in this was a dog grooming module which I enjoyed as I have always had a keen interest in grooming.

Since working at Canada Farm I have gained a lot of experience assisting Kay with bathing and grooming a variety of breeds. It is very rewarding to see how pleased their owners are when they come out looking and smelling nice.

I have been working at Canada farm since 2008, it started as a part time hobby, due to my love of animals, I worked mainly in the kennels with the dogs and occasionally helped out in the parlour bathing and grooming.

In March 2013 I started to work full time here as a kennel maid. The grooming side of my job became a regular occurrence and I enjoyed it most, resulting in me going to Hadlow College in September 2013 and achieving a city and guilds NVQ level 2 grooming assistant certificate.

I now help Kay with the bathing, grooming and trimming. I have learnt so much already and hope to go on and achieve my level 3 NVQ professional grooming certificate this year.

Dog grooming is something I really enjoy, I love being part of the dogs grooming experience, making them feel comfortable and happy while they are here, then seeing them going home looking and smelling so lovely.

We also have lots of experience with new x breeds such as Labradoodles, Cockerpoos & Cavachons where customers prefer to have a slightly more fluffy softer look which can be done using a comb attachment when clipping.
